Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 160°C / 320°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then set aside.
  2. Combine the butter and sugar in a bowl and cream together until smooth.
  3. Slowly add the flour and salt and carefully mix.
  4. Add in the chocolate chips and give it a final mix.
  5. Transfer the dough on to the pre-prepared baking tray and smooth out the surface.
  6. Gently prick the surface of the dough with a fork so that steam can pass easily and the it will not bubble or puff while baking.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let the shortbreads cool completely before cutting into squares.
  9. Optional - drizzle with melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
