Ever heard of Avocado fries? They’re a healthier substitute to regular potato fries. These fries are creamy on the inside and crisp on the outside. It’s as simple as slicing avocados up and bread crumbing them. I made these low in carb and gluten free by using a mixture of ground almonds and crushed peanuts as the “breadcrumbs”.
When picking the avocados, you need to pick slightly under-ripe ones. They need to be soft enough to cut through but firm enough to hold when picked up.
You can whip these up as a snack or side dish to any meal. Serve with your favourite dips, pairs well with spicy mayo & sour cream chive.
You can bake these in the oven or air fry them! Serves 2-3 as a snack.
Ingredients:
1-2 medium avocado in slices
30g crushed peanuts
30g grounded almonds (almond flour)
30ml almond milk or any milk of choice
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion granules
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon paprika
Handful of chives to garnish
Oil spray for cooking

- 2 medium avocado peeled and cut into slices
- 30 g crushed peanuts
- 30 g almond flour grounded almonds
- 30 ml almond milk
- 1 tablespoon garlic granules/powder
- 1 tablespoon onion granules
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- handful chives chopped
- coconut oil spray for cooking

- Pre-heat oven to 180°C (350°F) if using oven or you can Airfry these
- Cut up avocados into slices
- In a bowl add almond flour, crushed peanuts, garlic powder/granules, onion granules, salt and paprika. Mix well to combine the breadcrumb mixture.
- In another bowl add the almond milk
- Take each slice of avocado - dip into the milk and then the breadcrumb mixture.
- Keep repeating the process until you have breadcrumb-ed all the pieces and placed into a baking tray
- Spray each piece well with a cooking spray
- Bake in the oven for 10 minutes on 350°F (180°C) or until the edges slightly brown. There is an option to Airfry these also.
- Transfer onto a plate and serve with spicy mayo & sour cream and chive dip! Enjoy!
